02.17.98.1     Waking up this morning is getting tougher every morning after purchasing the Nintendo 64 game, Wave Race.  Today, I woke up to the blaring alarm which I am sure contributed to my last dream.  It was one of those odd ones that played out like a movie.  It kind of went like this:

I watched the news today, and heard that the arrival was going to be tonight around midnight.  The public was informed that the best viewing was going to be at the beach, for the crafts were going to be arriving from the ocean.  A friend and I were not sure what to expect, or what the news report was about, but it seemed quite popular – so popular, that it was noted as the event of a lifetime.

We drove around that evening looking for something to do, and that is when I remembered the news report earlier that day.  We headed toward the beach.  We had to park about a half mile away seeing how everyone else had the same idea.  Before we left the car, I grabbed the Maglight flashlight from the glove compartment.  We headed toward the water and noted the crowds of people already gathered there.

I checked my watch and it noted one minute before midnight.  People started shining their flashlights toward the sky, and we followed suit.  I looked over to my friends, and they looked just as bewildered as I did.  A large grey metallic rounded aircraft came into view.  It was massive and floated inward toward shore in the sky.  It was obviously not manmade nor from this planet – extraterrestrial.  It was nothing that I had ever imagined.  It resembled nothing from movies or television.  It was so.. so… real.  It seamlessly floated through the air and as smooth as a cloud covered the population of people gathered on the beach.  We stood there motionless watching and shining our flashlights.

Suddenly, without warning, laser blasts came from the ship as it lowered down to the ground.  People scattered in terror.  I could not believe it.  We watched as the ship opened up and saw multiples of beings rush out, each shooting laser weapons at the innocent population.  I turned toward my friends and we started running.  Everywhere around us, we saw laser blasts, and we ran.

By daybreak, the aliens had seized control of the local population.  My friends and I, along with everyone else, were now prisoners of the aliens.  There were a few large buildings where they kept us.  We were instructed to lay on our sides along the walls.  There were people everywhere laying along the walls and the aliens made rounds keeping order among the population.  This was the first time that I was able to see what they looked like.  For some reason, they resembled overgrown slugs with snail-like shells.  They were only about 3 feet tall and wore militaristic uniforms.  The alien guard that came around us was actually friendly.  His name was Henry and told us that he had only dreamed about traveling from his home planet ever since he was very young.  He also had one of those Virtual Pet toys that originated in Japan.  He was very fond of it and checked it every few seconds.  He made his guard rounds and walked away again.  And, another alien guard came by making his rounds.  This one was mean, and greedy.

Someone was eating peanuts out of a Planter’s Peanut can.  He offered some to us, but I knew that it would only make me thirsty.  The guard wanted some.  Immediately after grabbing and ingesting some peanuts, the guard shrieked in agony and his skin started deteriorating from the inside out.  Steam protruded from holes that bore through his skin.  This made me feel slightly itchy.  I grew curious, grabbed the can of peanuts and noted one of the ingredients; salt.

Suddenly, mayhem broke out again, and people were running and lasers were flying everywhere again.  We stood up and started running for the exit.  We grabbed two cans marked Iodized Salt.  One of the guards started running after us, firing his laser gun.  I opened the can of salt and poured some on the ground behind us.  As the guard ran over it, he let out a shriek and melted into the ground.  We continued running.

I woke up again to a blaring alarm only nine minutes after the last time the alarm went off – <snooze>.
