When I was fifteen, I used to excel at the infamous six- sided, multi-colored, brain-teaser of a puzzle named Rubic's cube.  I used the infamous layer technique of solving the puzzle.  I remember the day when I was able to figure out two of the three layers.  I was so excited that on the following day, I ran out and purchased a book which showed me how to solve the entire cube using various patterns; and especially the last layer.

One of my favorite places to practice my technique was while I rode the subways.  One morning, on my commute to school, I was involved in this intense practice session.  Before I knew it, a crowd had formed around me and started cheering me on.  I focused on the blurred cube in my hands and could hear all the whispers that were happening around me.  It was awesome.  After a while, I finally decided to take a break.  I actually started to develop a sweat.  The crowd started applauding and I nodded my head acknowledging this.

At that instant, a man approached me and handed me a quarter.  I figured I was somebody now.
