I reached for another piece of firewood.  Gently, I balanced it atop the starter log and the other pieces on the stack.  I believe there is enough on there to keep the fire going for a little while.   I used only one match to light the starter log this time.  I get better at this every week.  I turned and proceeded back to the couch, laid back against the propped pillows, and pressed the play button on the remote.  The video started as usual, with all the previews, and finally the main feature, “Sleepless in Seattle.”  This has to be the fifth time I have rented this movie from Blockbuster’s; and loved it every time.  My favorite part is when Meg and Tom are leaving the Observatory Deck of the Empire State Building, hand in hand, looking to each in amazement, with all the hopes of what life has to offer from that day forward.

Earlier today, I met a friend for brunch, tidied up the apartment, hung out in a book store, went grocery shopping, cooked up my lunches for the week, exercised, and finally retired into a bathrobe and settled in for the evening after hitting the old neighborhood video store.  Sometimes, things during the week move so fast.  I think it is invaluably important for one to spend some quality time with oneself every now and then.  For me, this helps regenerate the battery of life for the week to come.

Slows down the wheels in the head too…
